Summary of the issues discussed:
This was the first meeting of the group in the new Senedd term. Jayne Bryant MS was elected as Chair, cross-party support for the group was confirmed. Samaritans Cymru were nominated as the secretariat and confirmed. The rest of the meeting focused on setting out the aims of the group and a work programme for the group and areas to focus on at future meeting.

Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing, Lynne Neagle MS attended and presented to the group on the current Welsh Government work on suicide prevention. Professor Ann John, Clinical Professor in Public Health and Psychiatry, Swansea University & National lead for suicide and self-harm prevention, Public Health Wales also attended the meeting and presented on statistics on suicide and self-harm during the pandemic.
